Your next step : self confidence


Confidence is a skill you can develop and learn. The most important is to take action, small little affordable actions which stretch your natural comfort zone.

Every time you sit back and hesitate, your feed your doubts and actually loose confidence by not taking action.

You might think that it is too challenging to take steps but it is not. Why? because together we can select steps which are so small that you won't even notice you are taking them.

Once you develop this habit of simply going for it and taking action, you'll focus on bigger steps if you want to.

Any process of change can feel a bit challenging in the beginning. There are questions like: Will it work? can I do it? etc.

It is true taking a step is taking a small risk. Now we make that step so small that the risk is totally gone.

This is not a mountain you have to climb, it's more like going for a swim in a refreshing river. It is easy and uplifting.

Be specific!

Developing confidence is easy to do when focusing on a specific life situation.

Developing confidence has a lot to do with gaining knowledge, skills or expanded awareness in a specific field.

If you need to gain more confidence in your professional environment, try for instance getting extra experience or essential information.

If you need confidence for giving a public speech, you can put extra energy in your preparation. You could as well attend a seminar on communication skills.

If you need to gain confidence in social situations, taking extra care of your appearance, and buying a new trendy shirt could already be enough…

The point is that confidence has its roots in your being. It is more than an invisible “suspended” potential.

By developing confidence in a specific life situation, you will impact on your own mind, self esteem and confidence in general. You will progressively shift the way you perceive yourself.

Check with your coach to get focus, support and ideas with simple steps like these.

How can I get confidence?

Gaining confidence has a lot to do with taking action. Every time you hesitate, sit back and doubt, your are missing opportunities to experiment with life and learn something. Confidence comes from action.

Aim for good not perfect. Take risks, accept challenges. Any time you step beyond your comfort zone, you expand you potentials and your possibilities, so don't be afraid of taking steps, and taking small risks. This is how success is built.

Always see any "mistake" or rejection or set back as a learning experience, as something which gives you the opportunity to build yourself even stronger.
